This Week On The Farm . . . . .

This Week On The Farm . . . . .

Our little farm is taking off this week. I feel like we've finally accomplished some things. Some weeks I don't really feel like that. Garrett is graduating college on Saturday so we spent last Saturday and will spend this coming Saturday celebrating him. We have decided to start downsizing the animals though in preparation for Jeff and Gavin not being here next year. So, slowly we will be saying goodbye to a lot of them. One of the first to leave will be our newest little buck. He's adorable and sweet. I think that he believes he's a rooster though. He loves playing with our pasture rooster.

Gavin also was able to split his worm farm this week. Back in January/February he started his worm farm with just 50 worms and now we have hundreds. We're also going to make worm tea for the garden. It's an amazing fertilizer. He's been taking care of the worms (which requires very little time/effort) and is excited to be helping us so much with the garden. I thought maybe he could sell some worms at some point too but I'm not sure that he wants to do that. One of the great things about homeschooling is that you can pick what your children learn so I choose a worm course for him to take, and it was great!

The farm baskets have been very successful for us. I actually started making hazelnut spread (Nutella) this week and will make it again sometime. But it was soooo good. Yes, it still has sugar in it but there's no corn syrup and it's better for you than the store-bought version, so I consider that a win. If you want to be added to our farm basket list, make sure you contact me, so I know.

I hope you have had a great week. Remember---
