We had so much going on this week that I had way more pictures than usual but I try to keep things simple, so I'll still just share three pictures from the week. Two sets of babies were born this week! I love the baby animals. I think that is probably the most fun part of having animals at all. Bertha finally had her piglets. She only ended up with 3 live babies. If you're a breeder or interested in that world then you'll know that only 3 live babies is not a good number when potentially she should be able to have more than 10. Unfortunately, we're going to say goodbye to Bertha after the babies are weaned. This is farm life and how things must go sometimes. But the babies are healthy and super cute! The other babies were chicks! We have 7 more. I think I'll sell a few of them but we will probably keep 3 of the 7. The fun part about hatching your own chicks is using the incubator in the house. You can watch them start hatching which is always fun.
I'm so excited to tell everyone that a new store has decided to start selling my goat milk soaps. She is still getting everything set up, but this is a great step for my little Misty Creek Acres products. She also wants me to bring some candles to sell as well. I think this is so fun! I really tried hard sourcing the ingredients for the soaps and any other products I sell too. I don't use heavy fake scents because honestly those are toxic. I use essential oils and any other natural products that I can. Even the colors for the soaps are natural. It makes me so happy to see that other people appreciate the toxin free lifestyle.
Lastly, as I was going through pictures this week, I came across this one of our boots all lined up. Jeff and I were cleaning up last Saturday, so I cleaned off our cedar bench that's outside and went through shoes that collect by the door. I laughed a little when I saw the boots all lined up. If that's not what a little farm is then I don't know what is. I never thought I'd need a pair of Muck Boots but here I am. I use them mostly if it's wet outside or we're cleaning out the shelter, but they are definitely nice to have. Even little Braelyn has a pair of boots, and he absolutely loves them. I guess if you don't have gross boots then you're not yet a "farmer".
Lastly, the farm baskets are also still going well. I hope that I can continue doing them for as long as people want to keep buying them.
Have a great week! Be blessed; Not stressed!
