Aches & Pains
We knew it would happen. They are starting to hurt a little. Jeff's ankle and knees and Gavin's toe. Don't worry - nothing major. They ended their hike a couple miles earlier than they originally thought and that's ok! **Note to self - get insoles for them**
The fun part is they experienced a new trail angel today! They unexpectedly got hot dogs, apples and peanut butter. They were very excited about that. They very nice man that gave them food has a small business nearby and when he gets bored, he takes food for hikers. Go to their website and grab a couple gifts for people you love that would really show appreciation to them! If nothing else give them a follow on Instagram! Home | Cabin Fused Glass (square.site)

If you ever get the chance to hike parts or all of the Appalachian Trail, you'll notice the old looking signs naming roads, trails, gaps, etc. There are many clubs and organizations that maintain the signs. Many people may think that these signs are needed but in 2014, yes 2014 most people hiking the trail didn't bring a paper map. So, I think the signs are still pretty important. Of course, these are in addition to the white blaze trail markers.

They camped by themselves again. Jeff doesn't prefer staying in the shelters. But I wouldn't mind if he was a little closer to other people instead of literally in the middle of nowhere in a tent. Have you watched Backcountry on Netflix? I don't recommend.
I'll keep you posted.

Gavin Quotes "I like the hiking sticks now. I wasn't a fan at first, but they've saved my butt a few times."
